Prof Stricker Operating With The Single Port Robot

First Da Vinci Single Port Robot Surgeries

Professor Stricker performs the first two cases in NSW using St Vincents new Da Vinci Single Port Robot

On Monday the 12th of January 2026, Professor Stricker and his surgical team undertook the first two Single Port Robotic cases in New South Wales.

When asked about the new generation of robot Professor Stricker commented that it would offer improved surgical approaches. He went on to say that entering via one tiny incision rather than four, or if considering assistant’s access, possibly 2 incisions versus 6, has further improved minimally invasive surgery. Professor Stricker believes the multiport robot will continue to have a place depending on the specific case, patient anatomy, the nature of the cancer and other factors. However, he described Intuitive Surgical’s Single Port robot as a remarkable achievement.

Professor Stricker has completed over 2,800 multi-port robotic prostatectomies since 2006.
